Project Description

Modern, iconic, and sustainable design to strengthen the community through knowledge and architecture was the main objective for this Community Centre. We were tasked to design a multi-purpose community center that was intended to contribute to the rich history of Piet Retief by providing the African community with a landmark that promotes education and social interactions to enrich the community.

The exposed steel structure allows users to appreciate the building structure and a face brick facade allows the building to make a statement while responding the climate and managing a comfortable indoor climate. Perforated sheeting gives the building transparency while screening the sun and ventilating spaces.

The Centre includes a conference room, kitchen, offices, a common hall, and a sport filed.
